About Nicky
Nicholas G. Celia, otherwise known as "Uncle Nicky", was known to many as a kind and gentle soul who loved everyone. He was a genuine friend and well-loved by all who knew him. After attending Sacred Heart School, Nicky went on to graduate from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1979, and Millersville University in 1983 with a B.S. in Industrial Arts. He worked with the Facilities Department at Kegel's Produce for over 25 years and most recently was in the Maintenance Department for Millersville University. Prior to this, Nicky put his skills to use in various construction jobs. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #867, and attended both St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, where he grew up.
He had many talents, carpentry and woodworking were known to be his favorites. He always took the time to volunteer to help many in need. He had a strong work ethic and was a faithful servant to his family and community. He enjoyed many hobbies and outdoor activities like bike riding, camping, fishing, hiking, and traveling to the Jersey Shore. But above all, Nick loved his family.
Nick Celia was a man who was always in your corner. He had an incredible passion for family, friends, and hard work—values he carried in everything he did. Whether he was outdoors, working in his woodshop, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, or spending time with his niece and nephews, Nick lived with a deep sense of love and dedication.
He was also a huge fan of Rocky Balboa — a character who represents the underdog, always fighting to do good. That fighting spirit is something we will always remember about Nick. His kindness, loyalty, and determination left an impact on everyone who knew him, and his legacy continues to inspire.
I personally wanted to host a bowling event to spread mental health awareness and honor my Uncle Nick because he was a man who meant the world to me and my family. This event is a way to give back and help others who may be struggling. I believe sports have a unique way of bringing people together for a great time while also keeping the focus on an important cause. On top of that, Uncle Nick loved bowling in his free time, so it felt only right to create an event in his honor that reflects his spirit and passion. - KJ Myers

I work full-time at my family business, Kegel’s Produce, and am currently pursuing my Professional MBA at Villanova University. I wanted to host this bowling event to spread mental health awareness and honor my Uncle Nick, who meant the world to me and my family. This is my way of giving back and helping others who may be struggling. Sports have a unique way of bringing people together, and since Uncle Nick loved bowling, it felt right to create an event that reflects his spirit.

Executive Director, MHA of Lancaster CountyI am honored to have Mental Health America of Lancaster County be the beneficiary of Nicky’s Fight. This incredible event is a such a beautiful tribute to Nick Celia, someone we all loved, and the lasting impact he made to all who knew him. I want to thank KJ and Nick’s family for the opportunity to spend time with members of our community to have these difficult, but necessary, conversations. We are grateful to all of you for the support we’ve received to continue to carry the torch to shine a light on mental health, dismantle those misconceptions and break down the stigma surrounding mental wellness to promote positive change in our community.
